Information and Collaboration
Information and Collaboration services close the gaps between people, business processes and information. Axon helps customers manage their business documents and content – both online and offline – across the enterprise.
Central to Axon’s Information and Collaboration solutions capability is the customer requirement to bring previously unstructured information such as email, Microsoft Office documents, and paper-based information into the wider ICT infrastructure.
A strong driver among Government departments and SOEs is the compliance obligations of the Public Records Act 2005, which has effectively imposed a 2010 deadline to meet defined standards for good record keeping in Government.
For private sector companies the impetus for ECM projects is coming more from the desire to manage and leverage information collaboratively amongst staff and external parties – including their clients. This often means bringing together their document management system, intranet, extranet and website. For example: law firms now have the ability to provide varying degrees of access to files via an online portal, with very tight security that includes a full audit trail of what is done to each document.
Companies also want to bring paper-based information into their ECM systems, integrate their Blackberry & Windows Mobile devices.
ECM is tied into the very fabric of the infrastructure. Products such as Interwoven and Microsoft SharePoint provide a platform for ECM, but implementing these to deliver on the business requirements demands specialist ECM expertise and experience. Axon is unique in our ability to both implement ECM and integrate it throughout a customer's networks and systems.
