Datastor and EMC2 win Axon
Vendor of the Year awards
26 November 2009
Datastor has won Axon’s ‘Vendor of the Year’ Award, with Chris Bornman from EMC winning the Vendor Representative of the Year Award.
Axon's CEO Scott Green said Datastor had edged out three other contenders for Vendor of the Year Award: Microsoft, EMC2 and Ingram Micro.
Chris Bornman of EMC2 won Axon's Vendor Representative of the Year Award, ahead of Jason Molloy and Victoria Stammers from Datastor and Scott van Wayenburg from Ingram Micro.
He said Axon's awards were based on a survey of all Axon's employees. Factors evaluated for the Vendor of the Year award included customer satisfaction with regard to delivery, quotations, availability and service.
The Vendor Representative of the Year Award was based on customer focus, teamwork excellence in their role and overall drive and effectiveness.
Axon's Partner Manager, Simon Goode, said the annual vendor awards were an Axon institution, first introduced ten years ago.

“I think these awards have become more important over time. The industry has changed and vendors now have less direct customer contact and depend much more on strong local partnerships with local companies such as Axon,” Simon Goode said.
He says vendors saw the awards as validation of their work together with Axon.
“For our part, we see our partner relationships as an absolutely critical part of delivering customer value. Accordingly we place great store in our vendor awards and put considerable effort into selecting the winners.”
